Library Discussion GroupsWe offer three reader discussion groups for patrons interested in different types of reading experiences. The first is our Adult Book Club, which features one fiction or non-fiction title a month. Titles are chosen for their literary quality, strong review, or unique subject matter, and always offer variety. The library provides books on loan to patrons interested in participating in the club, which meets the first Monday of each month at 6:30 PM. Participants always engage in lively discussions, welcoming diverging perspectives and opinions.
For patrons "Too busy to read a novel!" the second group, Short & Sweets, features one short story a month. Stories average 10-20 pages in length, and are available at the library. Participants meet the third Wednesday of each month at 10:00 AM in our Cafe area for a fun and engaging discussion over homemade desserts. For more in-depth study and analysis of literature, check out our Great Reads program series. These classes alternate each month and feature a unique area of study, usually over an extended period of time. Some of our past classes include multi-week sessions on Toni Morrison's Beloved, Creative Non-Fiction, Gothic Literature, and How To Read Poetry to name a few. For more information, check out our Events & Programs link, or pick up a detailed calendar at the library. Groups are always open to new participants. Book Club Discussion Kits
